Custom Tape Slitting for Precision Manufacturing
Cortape converts films, foils, foams, and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes into narrow, tight-tolerance rolls. Built for high-volume production, our slitting capabilities hold the widths and tolerances your application demands, from the first roll to the last.
Cortape's Tape Slitting Process
Cortape slits incoming rolls up to 63 inches wide pressure-sensitive adhesives, including films, foils, foams, papers, transfer adhesives, silicone-coated substrates, fabrics, and non-wovens, down to a finished width of .062 inch (about the thickness of a penny).
We run four slitting methods in-house: razor, score, shear, and lathe. Razor suits thin films and fast changeovers. Shear holds the tightest tolerance and cleanest edge. Score slitting works well for paper. Lathe (bayonet) handles critical-tolerance jobs standard equipment can't. We match the method to your material and tolerance.
Manufacturers come to us when a standard supplier's widths don't fit their line, when a run needs repeatable widths across thousands of feet, or when an application calls for a width that isn't sold off the shelf.

Why Choose Cortape for Slitting
Four Slitting Methods, One Converter
Razor, score, shear, and lathe slitting are all available in-house, so we match the method to your material and tolerance.
Tight Tolerances Others Can't Match
We slit as narrow as .062", about the thickness of a penny, and hold that width run after run, precision other converters can’t match.
Built for High-Volume Production
Our high-speed rewind slitters support ongoing production runs without compromising tolerance, edge quality, or turnaround time.
Global Material Sourcing
We source from leading adhesive manufacturers to provide the optimal product for your application.
ISO 9001:2015 Certified Quality
Rigorous inspection and lot traceability are built into every roll we slit, giving your team consistent quality you can verify.
Decades of Technical Expertise
For over 50 years, our engineers have solved slitting challenges other converters turn away, bringing that experience to every new project.

Frequently
Asked
Questions
What is tape slitting?
Tape slitting is the process of cutting a wide master roll of film, foil, or adhesive tape into narrower finished rolls cut to an exact width and length specification. It lets manufacturers get precisely sized material to their own specs without purchasing extra equipment or converting it in-house.
What's the narrowest width Cortape can slit?
Our slitting equipment can produce finished roll widths down to .062 inch, about the thickness of a penny, depending on the material being processed and the slitting method used. Incoming master rolls can be up to 63 inches wide before slitting begins, giving us flexibility across a wide range of projects.
What slitting methods does Cortape use?
We use razor, score, shear, and lathe (bayonet) slitting in-house. Each method offers different tradeoffs in cost, setup time, edge quality, and achievable tolerance, and our engineers select the method that best fits your specific material, volume, and application.
What materials can Cortape slit?
We slit films, papers, foils, pressure-sensitive adhesives, silicone-coated substrates, fabrics, and non-woven materials, among others. If you have a specific material in mind that isn't listed here, our technical team can confirm whether it's a good fit for our equipment.
Does Cortape specialize in high-volume tape slitting?
Yes. High-volume production is a core focus at Cortape, and our high-speed rewind slitters are built for it. We support ongoing, repeat runs of slit rolls without compromising on tolerance, edge quality, or turnaround time, delivering the consistency high-volume lines depend on.
